Musa Nimrod re-elected Nigeria volleyball federation president

Engineer Musa Nimrod has been re-elected as President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), securing another four-year term to lead the federation.

Nimrod, who has overseen significant progress in local and international volleyball development, was returned unopposed after sweeping all 16 votes at the elective congress held Monday inside the Basketball Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In other positions, Prince Babatunde Omisore was elected 1st Vice President, while Architect Adamu Tenimu clinched the 2nd Vice President slot.

The zonal representatives include DCP Stephen Hasso (Rtd) for the North East, Engr. Musa Nimrod for the North West, Bolcit Amakiri for the North Central, Prince Babatunde Omisore for the South West, Kingsley Nwosu for the South East, and Famous Daunemigha for the South South.

The players’ voice on the board will be carried by Dauda Saje, while Samuel Timothy takes the seat as Technical Representative. The corporate community is represented by Comptroller Frank Onyeka, who serves as the Sponsor Representative.

Following his re-election, Nimrod pledged fresh initiatives to further elevate volleyball in Nigeria.

“We are not dwelling on past achievements but on what lies ahead. Our focus will remain on graduate development, with structured pathways from U-15 through to senior level,” he said.

He added that major volleyball tours would be strengthened with mentors and staff, while more sponsors are expected to join. Nigeria’s busy calendar includes the U-21 Championship in Mexico, U-18 World Championship in Qatar, Senior World Championship in Australia, African Youth Games in Angola, and World Schools Games in China.

“With elections over, our focus is action,” Nimrod concluded, awaiting formal inauguration by the National Sports Commission.
